A well-worn but characterful small-size Der Speiss tunic of the Feldgendarmerie (Field Police), constructed from herringbone twill material for use in warmer southern climates. Originally a dark green colour, the tunic has been heavily washed and sun-bleached to a light green, almost cream tone. The slip-on shoulder boards feature orange piping with dark green centres, double rank pips denoting the rank of Stabsfeldwebel, and minor moth wear to both boards. The dark green collar bears mouse-grey universal collar patches, with slight moth loss to the silver tress on one side. A machine-embroidered enlisted ranks breast eagle remains attached, though partially loose due to moth nibbling around the wool edges.

An Iron Cross ribbon is fitted through the second buttonhole, with loops present for two further decorations. The Der Speiss lace on both sleeves shows oxidation and partial loss. Inside, full size and maker markings are visible, including a Stuttgart manufacturer’s stamp, along with ‘RAD’ and what appears to be ‘DAF’, though the tunic is unquestionably of army issue. All buttons are of the removable type. A scarce and evocative example of a southern front service tunic.
