A compelling small paperwork grouping belonging to German Army General Kurt Spitzer, a German Cross in Gold recipient. The collection includes his War Service Cross 2nd Class with Swords citation, dated 30th January 1942, pen-signed by his Regimental Colonel; War Service Cross 1st Class with Swords citation, dated 20th April 1942, signed by the General Major and Divisional Commander; and Wound Badge in Black citation, January 1944, pencil-signed by the Unit Doctor while he was serving on the Army Corps General Staff. Also included is the Winter Medal of the East citation from August 1942, issued when he was Oberstleutnant, and an A4 field-typed Infantry Assault Badge in Silver, dated August 1940, signed by the General Major and Divisional Commander. Kurt Spitzer went on to be awarded the German Cross in Gold and concluded the war as a Generalmajor. His uniform as a General Staff Officer Oberst was recently sold in the United States.
