German WWII Army Etched Parade Display Piece

A superb quality example, marked simply ‘Solingen’ and featuring deep, clear etching to both sides. One side bears the German motto "Zur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit" (“In Memory of My Service Time”), flanked by an out-swept winged eagle and swastika to the right, and a down-swept eagle and swastika to the left. The reverse displays the same eagle configuration, with a detailed central image of an 8-ton tracked prime mover towing a heavy artillery piece.

The original leather washer is in place, and all plating to the upper pommel, which remains sprung for fitting, is intact and bright. The scabbard retains its full factory paint finish and is fitted with what appears to be an original K98 frog, clearly maker marked on the reverse.

An outstanding and visually impressive display piece for collectors of German Army ceremonial items.
