GERMAN WWII ARMY ETCHED BLADED PARADE DISPLAY PIECE

A superb quality blade, non-maker-marked, simply stamped ‘Solingen’. The etching on both sides of the blade is good, deep and clear, one side having the motto ‘IN MEMORY OF MY SERVICE TIME in German, with both an out-swept winged eagle and swastika on one side and a down-swept winged eagle and swastika to the left-hand side. On the reverse side, the same configuration of eagles, with the central logo showing an 8 Ton tracked prime mover pulling a large artillery piece. Original leather washer complete, all plating to the upper pommel, which is spring-loaded for bayonet fixing present. The paint finish to the scabbard is again perfect, with an original, what appears to be, K98 frog, which is maker-marked on the reverse side.
