A very good example of a cavalry officers visor cap, possibly size 59, featuring the characteristic high saddle shape and constructed by Erel. Made from fine ribbed material free from moth damage, it displays a rich golden yellow Waffenfarbe.
Fitted with a matching set of bullion wire national eagle and cockade, complemented by standard silver officers’ cap cords and a fibre peak. The interior shows a mid-tan all-leather sweatband, with a single split but retaining the clear Erel trademark stamped on the leather.
The remaining lining is gold rayon, housing a large central celluloid lozenge that retains faint traces of the originally gilded Erel trademark, now faded with age.
