GERMAN WWII ALLGEMEINE SS OFFICERS DISPLAY PIECE

A super condition sword, early non-maker marked blade measuring 80cm in length, fitted with its highly nickel-plated D guard hilt, which retains all of its nickel plating with some minor losses. The ebony wood grip is undamaged. Good quality SS runic centre symbol. On removal of the knurled nut, it reveals a protected tang cap to the interior; all of these early swords should have this feature. Leather washer complete. SS runic stamping below the D-ring cross guard, which matches the SS runic symbol on the upper throat of the scabbard. Both scabbard mounts are complete and nice, retaining much of their original finish, with some scratching to the lower mount. All of the original scabbard paint is present with an OLC-marked metallic clip fitted to its black hanging strap. A very good example of the SS officers' sword.
