From our own collection, this is a superb example of the large white-glazed German Shepherd, model number 76, designed by renowned sculptor Theodor Kärner for the Allach porcelain manufactory. This elegant and lifelike piece captures the strength and poise of the breed, and is featured on page 412 of Allach Porcelain by Dennis R. Porell.
The figure remains in excellent overall condition, with a crisp glaze and sharp detail throughout. On close inspection, two minor chips are visible to the toenails on the right front foot, along with a single hairline crack extending slightly up the lower leg—both stable and noted for accuracy.
A highly desirable and iconic piece from the Allach series, representing one of the most striking animal figures produced under the direction of SS patronage. A fine addition to any collection of WWII-era art porcelain or Third Reich decorative items.
