A stunning example of the Allach white porcelain mountain stag, designed by Theodor Karner and first introduced in 1936, as shown in the original Allach catalogue of that year. Production of the pure white version was extremely limited, with approximately 93 examples believed to have been produced between 1938 and 1939. The stag is beautifully sculpted with exceptional anatomical detail and an elegant, powerful stance.
As noted in Dennis R. Porell’s Allach Porcelain 36–45, the model’s antlers were designed to be removable. The example illustrated on page 386 of that work shows visible joins, whereas on this piece, the antler connection is far more refined and smoothly integrated, reflecting superior craftsmanship. The porcelain remains in perfect condition throughout, with no damage, repairs, or replacements.
The SS Allach Porcelain Works, established under Heinrich Himmler on the outskirts of Dachau, was intended to showcase the artistic excellence of Germany’s finest porcelain artisans. This exceptional example captures the skill and precision for which the factory became renowned. Highly collectible and in impeccable condition.
