German WWII Allach Julichter

A fine original example of the Allach porcelain candleholder known as the Julichter. Manufactured at the Allach works on the outskirts of the Dachau concentration camp, it is deeply impressed with the double runic SS symbol on one of the lower legs. The piece is complete with no damage. The Julichter was traditionally awarded to SS members to celebrate the winter solstice, but it was also used on other occasions as a form of award or decoration, sometimes even recorded in the Wehrpass or Soldbuch of SS members.
