GERMAN WWII ALBERT KESSELRING SKETCH PORTRAIT

A huge amount of items from the Field Marshall Kesselring estate recently sold in Germany. Regimentals were privileged to be able to buy some of the items. Featured here is a very fine quality 15 x 18 cm pencil upper bust portrait of Field Marshall Kesselring, possibly created by a British artist whilst under captivity, with a two-line inscription below in German ‘To his dear Irmgard in memory of Christmas 1951’ with his signature ‘Albert’. A very nice personalised item, laid into a period frame.
