A comprehensive paperwork and insignia group belonging to Obergefreiter Friedrich Wirth, who served with the 2nd Battery, 1st Artillery Regiment of the 764th Motorised Division. The group includes his second issue Soldbuch, dated 27 October 1944, featuring a photograph of Wirth hatless in his first pattern Afrikakorps tunic with his Black Wound Badge visible.
Awards recorded in the Soldbuch include the Black Wound Badge (August 1942), Eastern Front Medal (August 1942), and War Service Cross (August 1944). The cover of the Soldbuch has the swastika blocked. Also included is his 1936 Arbeitsbuch, citations for the Eastern Front Medal and War Service Cross 2nd Class with Swords (both awards present), his original Afrikakorps cuff title, a 1943-dated hospital medical card, leave pass from March 1945, and POW documents issued by the French, including a record card (November 1945) and discharge sheet (January 1946).
