A good example of the rare piece of equipment known as the A-frame. The A frame was produced to carry the mess tin, the zeltbahn and the zeltbahn tent peg bag. Once loaded with the three pieces of equipment, it was attached to the wearer’s Y straps. This example in generally good condition. The right-hand side tropical style strap is unfortunately missing its Lux pointed buckle, the roller buckle section is missing, slight rust and weakness around the webbing strap that attaches to the lower right-hand D-ring. Traces of a maker’s mark on the lower part of the A-frame, with the addition of three extra equipment straps, all in leather. The A-frame has always been difficult to find and is the final piece of the jigsaw of assembling a German infantryman’s full marching kit.
