German WWII A Frame with Extra Carrying Straps
German WWII A Frame with Extra Carrying Straps

A good example of the rarely encountered German WWII A frame, designed to carry essential field gear such as the mess tin, zeltbahn, and peg bag. Once packed, the A frame would be attached to the soldier’s Y-straps as part of the full marching equipment.
This example remains in generally good condition. The right-hand side tropical-style strap is missing its Lux pointed buckle, and the roller buckle section is also absent. There is slight rust and some weakness around the webbing strap that connects to the lower right-hand D-ring.
Traces of a maker’s mark can be seen on the lower part of the frame. Additionally, the A frame comes fitted with three extra leather equipment straps.
A hard-to-find component, and often the final piece in completing a fully equipped German infantryman’s field display.
