An exceptionally nice set of the 7 x 50 binoculars used by naval and submarine personnel. The main body has the coding ‘BEH’ for Ernst Leitz of Wetzlar, and the binoculars are numbered ‘447043’. Complete with their rubber protection mountings. The rubber eyepieces are all complete and fully functional. At one stage in the life of the binoculars, two slits have been cut in the rubber surround to allow the neck strap to pass through the rubber instead of the normal procedure of fitting to the exterior. The majority of the crackle finish present; on one side of the binoculars, the crackle finish is smooth. The rubber protective mountings are complete at the end of each side of the binoculars, with its full-length neck strap. The box is in exceptional condition, with the eagle and swastika over the ‘M’ mark on the lid; all of the white stitching is brand new, with its full-length shoulder strap plus the two belt loops on the reverse side. The optics are excellent but in need of a slight clean.
