German WWII 1st Pattern Afrikakorps Long Lace-Up Boots

The long lace-up boots in canvas and leather introduced for the Afrikakorps were produced in three models, with the 1st pattern being by far the rarest. Offered here is a mismatched pair of these scarce early boots. When issued, pairs were taken from piles of left and right boots of varying sizes, with no regard to canvas shade, resulting in minor colour differences—one example here showing more green than the other. Both boots remain in magnificent condition.
