German WWI Württemberg Regiment Feldmutze

An exceptional and mint unissued Württemberg Regiment feldmutze, part of a small untouched batch of Württemberg and Prussian caps obtained some years ago. Constructed in standard field grey wool with a red centre band and red piping to the crown, fitted with both the national and Württemberg State cockades. The cap is completely free of moth damage, with only a single trace of moth tracking to the crown. The interior is profusely stamped with the Esslingen maker, size ‘54’, army corps stamp ‘B.A.XIII’ (18th Army Corps), the date ‘1916'. A rare, untouched example in outstanding condition.
