German WWI Wurttemberg NCO Visor Cap, Cased

A very fine large-size Wurttemberg NCO visor cap, approximately size 58–59, complete with its original carrying case. Constructed in field grey cloth, the cap remains in excellent condition with no moth holes and only one small area of light moth tracking to the crown. The red piping around the crown and central band is intact and vibrant, complemented by both the national and Wurttemberg cockades. The peak is in field grey-green. To the interior, the brushed cotton lining is clearly silver-blocked with an ‘Ulm’ maker’s mark, while the ersatz-style sweatband bears the punch-holed name ‘Stuhlinger’. A very scarce example, enhanced by the survival of its original box.
