GERMAN WWI SOLDIERS BACK PACK/TORNISTER

Mid-war type in olive drab canvas and brown leather. Karlsruhe maker’s stamp on the top leather rear section and repeated on one shoulder strap; the opposite strap appears to be a replacement. Regimentally marked in red ‘J.R 88’, which is the 2nd Nassau Infantry Regiment No.88. Original soldier’s name ‘Deckelburg’ applied in backing on the reverse canvas. Some rodent wear inside, missing its ammunition cartridge clips and one pack ring. Some original trench mud is in place.
