GERMAN WWI SCHUTZTRUPPE FOR SOUTH AFRICA HAT

A very fine example of the NCO and other ranks example for the Schutztruppe in South West Africa. The hat band and the hat trim are all in green and are of the exact weave and quality designated for NCOs and other ranks. For a direct comparison, please see The German Colonial Troops 1889 to 1918, page 284. The hat brim is held to the main body of the hat with a press stud. There are various age storage stains, one minor moth nip, and some slight moth tracking to both the outer and lower brim. Maker stamped to the inside of the hat for the famous store in Munich ‘F & A Oiringar’.
