German WWI Saxon-Weimar Infantry Regiment 94 Enlisted Ranks Helmet Plate

This is a well-preserved helmet plate (wappen) for an enlisted rank, representing the specific insignia of Infantry Regiment 94 (Saxon-Weimar). The plate demonstrates an interesting manufacturing variation, having been originally stamped to accommodate a reserve cross at the centre of the eagle's breast.

In this instance, the plate features the specialised overlay for Saxon-Weimar utilised for Regiment 94. Positioned beneath this overlay is the reserve cross, which bears the traditional motto Fur Furst und Vaterland (For Prince and Fatherland). The combination of these features makes it a distinct variant for collectors of specialist Prussian and state-specific infantry insignia.

The plate is in good, firm condition and retains its original curvature and shape. On the reverse side, both wire loops remain intact for attachment to a pickelhaube.
