A very good example of a Saxon Weimar officers pickelhaube for the 94th Infantry Regiment, complete with its original carrying case. The leather skull shows light overall crazing, with both front and rear peaks firmly attached. The fittings retain a high degree of original gilt finish throughout, though the crown from the orb on the front plate is missing. The helmet features the rare Saxon Weimar overlay plate, which fits over the standard Prussian eagle plate and bears the distinctive inscription ‘FUERST’ on the eagle’s neck in place of ‘KOENIG’—a feature unique to only a few regiments.
Both the national and Saxon Weimar (green and black) officers cockades are present. The interior retains its complete leather liner with some wear but no damage, and its original silk lining. Four minor kinks are present in the front peak trim. No extra holes are visible, confirming the plate is original to this helmet. The fitted carrying case is included, though the name and carrying straps are missing; inside is a printed paper label reading ‘C.A. Westmann, Dresden’.
