German WWI Saxon Regiment 108 Buckle

A very rare example attributed to Saxon Regiment 108, likely recovered as a battlefield find and subsequently restored. The main brass body of the buckle remains in excellent condition, while the nickel overlay plate shows minor corrosion and features a slight crack on the lower right-hand side.

The original heavy brass double-pronged belt fixing system is intact, with some corrosion present on the brass tube securing the steel axle. Green verdigris is visible on the rear of the buckle, consistent with age and storage conditions.
