A very large size all-fibre helmet for an officer in Saxon Infantry Regiment 100, this is the only Saxon Regiment to have all silver fittings, and its full title is the 1st Leib Grenadier Regiment. One minor indentation to the crown on the rear right-hand side; otherwise, the skull is excellent. Some minor creasing at the lower edge of the crown at the rear, where it meets the rear peak, both peaks firmly attached to the main body. All of the silver finishes very well and is nicely toned with age. The protruding Saxon front plate is in silver with its gilded overlay. The helmet has its larger size, Saxon style non-serrated edge, national and State cockades. To the interior, the mid brown scalloped edge sweatband is good with evidence of wear, use with its inner light tan silk, also with conversant wear as to the leather. The front and rear inner peaks are lined respectively in red and green. In its original carrying box.
