German WWI Saxon Guard Reiter Officer's Full Dress Pouch

An exceedingly rare piece of full dress equipment from Saxony’s elite heavy cavalry formation; the Guard Reiter Regiment. The pouch is constructed from leather over a metal body; the front flap features a large, detailed Coat of Arms of Saxony with crown above.

Both original side suspension loops remain intact; gilt finish is worn to the central exposed areas, but remains strong within the protected fields. A hard-to-find item from one of the most prestigious cavalry regiments of the Imperial German Army.
