German WWI Saxon Enlisted Mans Pickelhaube

A well-preserved Saxon enlisted ranks pickelhaube featuring a robust all-leather body complemented by matching brass fittings. The front and rear peaks exhibit minor surface crazing but remain securely stitched to the main shell. This example retains its original chinstrap as well as both the national and state Saxon cockades with the characteristic non-serrated edges.

The interior liner is complete and displays vibrant original colouring, with only minimal damage in the form of a small rodent nip to one side. The rear peak bears clear regiment markings: ‘II ERS.R.177.R’, identifying it as belonging to Saxon Regiment 177.
