A very good example of a Saxon artillery officer’s pickelhaube featuring a firm leather skull with both front and rear peaks securely attached. The Saxon starburst front plate displays the cut-out crown with subdued matching gilt finish throughout. Complete with both large-size national and Saxon non-serrated cockades.
The interior retains its light cream leather sweatband and matching ribbed silk liner, showing honest wear from service. A manufacturer’s paper label remains affixed inside the skull, marked with size 59. Accompanied by its original carrying case, though all straps are now absent. A fine and complete officer’s example with excellent character.
