A very fine example of a saw back bayonet for the Mauser 98/05, produced by Simson & Company of Suhl. The blade is in superb condition with only very minor sharpening marks, and the saw teeth remain excellent. The wood grips are undamaged, and the blade shows profuse acceptance stamps, including the date ‘15’ on the flat back section. The rifle retaining button system is intact and functions correctly.

Fitted into its original steel scabbard, which is undamaged but has lost its original blued finish. The upper pommel of the bayonet is Imperial acceptance stamped, confirming its authenticity.
