A fine example of a Prussian other ranks leather pickelhaube, with an excellent condition skull showing even crazing throughout. Both front and rear peaks are firmly attached to the main body. The front peak trim has a slight kink and a minor repair, unusually maker stamped. All brass fittings match perfectly, including the back strap, non-removable spike, circular spike base, Prussian front plate, strap fittings, and front trim.

The leather chinstrap appears to be a replacement, while both national and state cockades remain original. The interior features the complete leather liner, with only slight mouse nibbling to the lower forehead edge. All tongues are intact and retain their original drawstring.

Very faint regimental markings indicate issue to Infantry Regiment Herzog Ferdinand von Braunschweig, 8th Westfälisches Nr. 57, 2nd Battalion, dated 1907. The interior shell retains a good, rich colour overall.
