German WWI Prussian Officer’s Plume Stem

This is a rare and essential accessory for the restoration or completion of a high-ranking Imperial German headdress. The item is a plume stem specifically designed for a Prussian officer’s pickelhaube.

Constructed from white metal, the stem would have originally supported a horsehair or feather plume for ceremonial parade wear. The finish remains consistent with its age and would suit a helmet with matching white metal (silver-coloured) fittings, such as those worn by specific infantry, dragoon, or technical units.

Please note that the small top cap used for securing the plume to the stem is currently missing. Despite this, the stem remains a difficult-to-find component for collectors and restorers looking for authentic period parts to complete a Prussian officer's ensemble.
