A very nice condition example of the rare officer’s Tschapka for the Prussian 2nd Uhlan Regiment; featuring a large size leather skull with good form. The mortarboard top shows overall crazing, with minor cracking and wear to the lower skull, consistent with age.

All original gilt fittings remain in place, including the Prussian front plate, domed chin scales, and front peak trim—all retaining strong gilt finish. The distinctive red ribbed woollen Rabat, trimmed in black and silver for Prussia, is complete and free from moth damage.

The helmet is fitted with a short set of silver bullion cap lines, a single Prussian officer’s cockade, and the officer’s bullion wire field cockade affixed to the top of the mortarboard. The interior features a white leather sweatband showing light wear and some discoloration, along with its original green silk lining.

A rare and desirable full-dress Tschapka from one of the most iconic cavalry regiments of the Imperial German Army.
