GERMAN WWI PRUSSIAN LANDWEHR OFFICERS PICKELHAUBE

A very nice condition upper medium size all leather pickelhaube for an officer in a Landwehr Infantry Regiment. Large Prussian front plate having the ‘FR’ in raised relief to the breast of the eagle, with the Landwehr Cross below. Gilt matching to the tall spike, which is removable, circular spike base, back strap, front plate and chin scales. Complete with its officers' national and Prussian cockades. The skull is excellent, with some light crazing; both front and rear peaks are securely attached to the main body. Very minor congealing to the leather finish of the front peak. To the interior, the all leather sweatband is intact, showing wear and use. The inner silk liner has shredded considerably. A very nice-looking helmet.
