German WWI Prussian Feldmutze

A superb example of a Prussian feldmutze from World War I, produced in excellent quality issue-grade grey-green cloth, with virtually all nap to the fabric remaining. The cap features vivid red piping around the crown and a matching red band to the base, complemented by its original large-size national and state cockades. Only a single small moth nip is visible just to the left of the Prussian cockade.

The interior is lined in clean white cotton with faint army group markings and an oval red manufacturer’s stamp still visible. A beautifully preserved and highly desirable example of the classic Prussian field cap.
