A fine and complete example of a Prussian Dragoon Reserve Officer’s helmet, size-marked ‘56’. The leather skull shows overall age crazing, with both front and rear peaks firmly attached. The gilt fittings match beautifully throughout, featuring the Reserve Officer’s cross to the centre of the Dragoon-style Prussian eagle. Fitted with its correct domed chin scales and both national and Prussian cockades. The interior retains its mid-tan leather sweatband, which remains intact, though the inner silk lining is missing. The initials ‘R.O.Y.’ are ink-stamped inside the skull. Accompanied by its original carrying case, which is complete apart from the missing closure strap.
