An extremely nice condition field grey, model 1910 officers' tunic worn by a Lieutenant aviator. Shoulder boards, stitched in with black and white thread over a wartime subdued grey base with the aviation light grey arm of service colour below. A set of bullion wire on grey collar patches, with some light threads missing from one of the collar patches. Each shoulder board is fitted with the aviator's wing propeller. To the second buttonhole, a very faded black and white ribbon of the Iron Cross 2nd class. All buttons are original to the tunic. Swedish style cuffs with crown buttons. Two lower pockets secured by crown buttons. To the rear of the tunic is the model 1910 red piped Prussian style skirted rear vents with their hidden internal pockets. Loops for one award to the upper right breast. The nap to the cloth is excellent; there is no moth anywhere on the tunic. The lining is with service wear but undamaged. The tunic was part of the very well-known and well-renowned Michael Baldwin collection.
