GERMAN WWI PRUSSIAN 1ST PATTERN ORDER OF THE CROWN MEDAL

A scarce variant with fretted out crown, 1888 to 1916 type. Finely engraved around the rim ‘PAOLO FORMOSA 1899’. A rare issue awarded to an Italian for his help to German forces in suppressing the Boxer Rebellion in China.
