A very well-preserved example of a military official’s pickelhaube, remarkable given its age. The leather body remains in excellent condition, with both front and rear peaks firmly attached and stitching intact. Minor congealing marks are visible on the peaks, consistent with age. The gilt finish is slightly subdued but overall excellent.

Fitted with an officer’s front plate featuring a cut-out crown and a Dragoon-style spike with a cross base and domed fittings in place of stars. The domed chin scales are complete, accompanied by a single Prussian cockade, as was typical for this period. The square-cut front peak retains its peak trim.

The interior features a 12-tongued NCO liner in good condition with the original drawstring intact. This helmet pattern was actively used during the 1870–71 Franco-Prussian War.
