German WWI Paper Cloth Pickelhaube Cover

A rare officers pickelhaube cover constructed in paper cloth, a method introduced when traditional materials were scarce due to Allied blockades. Perfect condition, maker marked “Vorn” to the interior of the front peak. Some traces of shellac on both front and back peaks where it rested against a black leather shellac helmet, otherwise excellent. Large proportions, fitting helmets sized 57–60.
