Excellent blade, much bright finish remaining. The blade has not been abused in any manner. Maker marked ‘Alexander Koppel, Solingen’. Acceptance stamps on the flat back portion of the blade. Undamaged wood grips. Imperial acceptance stamp to the upper pommel. Fitted into its steel scabbard, which is totally undented and dates to 21.3.1918, painted to the scabbard, probably by the soldier who captured it, complete with its good, strong leather frog, which has had a hole pierced through the top of the frog for a collector's wall display. A good souvenir bayonet of WWI.
