German WWI M18 Trench Helmet

A clean and well-preserved example of the scarce M18 model trench helmet. The lightly stamped size markings indicate shell size 66. The exterior retains approximately 70% of its original apple green finish, with minor corrosion visible around the front brim, lower right side, and rear skirt.

The interior features the original M18 steel liner band, showing overall rusting but still securely holding its three light cream leather liner pads with their inner cushions. Rust markings are present on the leather, yet all pads remain firmly attached. The original drawstring is complete.

This example also includes its rare, original M18 carbine clip-type chinstrap, with delicate stitching in places and faint remnants of the manufacturer’s stamp visible on the rear section of the buckle strap.
