German WWI M17 Helmet with Remains of Post Home Label

A fine example of a BF 64-sized M17 steel helmet, retaining nearly all of its original apple green paint finish. The exterior bears the faint outline of a post home label, suggesting it was mailed back to the United States as a souvenir.

The interior is exceptional, with the original M17 liner in outstanding condition, all three light tan leather pads intact and complete with their internal cushions and original shoe lace-style drawstring. The rear of the shell is ink stamped with the size and “AK” markings.

Accompanying the helmet is a neatly typed descriptive label by a previous owner, providing context to its history.
