Helmet marked SI 66, featuring a distinctive exterior decorated with multiple small blocks of green, maroon, and ochre separated by narrow lines, characteristic of the M17 camouflage pattern.
Inside, all three original leather pads are present, though their attachment to the steel liner band is very fragile. One tongue from a pad is completely missing, and the tips of both tongues from another pad are also absent.
The helmet includes an original chinstrap, which is in significantly better condition than the liner pads and appears to have been transplanted from another helmet.
A rare example of WWI camouflage combat equipment, showing clear signs of age and use.
