An outstanding and all-original example of the German M16 steel helmet, complete with its full liner and chinstrap, stamped Q 66. The exterior retains approximately 95% of its original three-colour camouflage scheme in darker forest green, ochre, and light tan, with bold black separation lines. The camo is applied in an unusual V-pattern that descends from the crown, giving the helmet a distinctive field-used appearance.
The interior features the standard M16 leather liner band with all three leather pads present, each still containing their original interior cushions. One pad is delicately attached to the liner band. The original chinstrap remains affixed, though showing signs of age-related fragility. Included with the helmet is a well-typed, fully descriptive label from the previous owner, adding context and provenance to this exceptional piece.
