A nice condition size 64 M.16 trench helmet shell. The maker’s digits preceding the size number are too faint to read. The helmet retains its apple green paint with minor abrasions and virtually 100% of the finish remaining, though the crown area shows some thinning.
The interior skirt has slight losses to the apple green finish but remains mostly intact. It is fitted with the correct leather-banded liner and three interior cushions. Two of the liner tongues have their tips missing, but the interior horsehair pads are complete.
Fitted with a rare armoured front plate, marked ‘Krupp Bell’ and numbered ‘117’. The front plate is a slightly different shade from the helmet and is missing its leather strap.
