GERMAN WWI M.16 CAMOUFLAGE TRENCH HELMET WITH PARTIAL CHINSTRAP

An absolutely magnificent colour combination of brown, ochre and green with very wide black separation lines. Some slight rust bleed and losses to the finish on the crown area, but the remainder is stunning. It is virtually impossible to read the size stampings, but it would appear to be a large-size helmet. To the interior, the three-pad liner is present but is separated at its join on the reverse side and has come away from the replacement rear rivet. All of the pads still have their original tongues, but they are congealed. The chinstrap is complete but has broken away from the strap clip, which is still in situ at its fixing point.
