GERMAN WWI JAGER ZU PFERDE LOBSTER TAIL HELMET

A very clean and large size 58 skull lobster tail helmet for Regiment Number 5 of the 13 Jager Zu Pferde regiments. Maker marked Wunderlich to the interior skull to the upper inner crown, all of the blued finish remaining to the lobster tail exterior, all of the fittings in white metal, (  the JZP regiments from 1 -7 were all in white metal fittings) with the exception of the brass domed clip over chin scales, the helmet with its totally original large size state and national cockades, to the rear inner lobster tail stamped size 58, with its original eight tongue leather liner, over the last 50 years we have had many of these helmets of the Jager zu Pferde, but can never remember having one that is regimentally marked, this example marked to  Regiment number five and dated 1915, marked in ink blocks to the interior of the leather liner.
