GERMAN WWI IRON CROSS FIRST CLASS WITH PLATE BACK

A nice, unusual Iron Cross first class of World War I, constructed in a semi-convex style, good finish remaining overall. The award was constructed with two screw threads on both the upper and lower arms of the cross, a larger steel plate for placing on the interior of the uniform has been fitted with two nuts to secure the plate to the award. The award is an 800 silver marked, highly unusual piece.
