German WWI Iron Cross First Class in Original Case

A very fine example of the 1914 Iron Cross First Class presented in its original case. The medal features a flat back and is possibly silver, though not hallmarked. The wide flat pin is KO marked below the hook. This piece is of super quality and is in almost mint condition, retaining all of its original black finish.

The accompanying flat-top case is covered in black artificial leather, with a bright silver Iron Cross emblem printed on the centre of the lid. The inside of the lid is lined with white silk, while the base of the box is finished in dark purple velvet.

A well-preserved and highly collectible display piece from the First World War.
