GERMAN WWI HOOD GAS MASK

The German equivalent of the British hood gas mask, using the filter and eyepieces of the gas mask issued in a tin. The grey material used for the hood has suffered from considerable moth tracking to the nap, but only two actual moth holes to the rear of the hood, interior white cotton lined, with label of the original soldier, Gefreiter Thurner, 19th co,18th Infantry Regiment. The interior is considerably stained, complete with its original neck drawstring.
