GERMAN WWI HESSIAN OFFICERS VISOR CAP WITH FIELD COVER

Over the many years we have been trading in these type of items, we have had pickelhaube covers, Hussar Busby covers, Shako covers, Curassier covers, camouflage bands for feldmutzes and visor caps but we have never been able to obtain and did not know they existed, the officers' or NCO visor cap cover. The cap is a standard Hessian NCO blue bodied visor cap with red piping, red centre band, ersatz leather sweatband, one crack to the peak, some cracking and loss of finish to the edge of the peak.  Fitted to it is its ultra rare field grey cover, the cover itself is held together at the rear by two male/female studs, there are five enlisted ranks quality clips, three to the peak to the rear to hold the cover to the cap.  We are not suggesting that this is the original cover for this cap but it is a good fit.  We are pricing this very rare item on the value of the cover alone, the caps as we all know are relatively easy to obtain.
