German WWI Hessian All Steel Buckle on Its Original Belt

A rare and desirable WWI Hessian-issued all-steel belt buckle complete with its original 100cm-long combat weight leather belt; the buckle retains faint traces of its original field grey-green paint to the reverse, with most of the finish worn from the face through service use. Still fitted with its original leather tab, clearly marked and dated ‘1918’ with manufacturer’s stamp from Offenbach—a city located in the State of Hesse. A fine and completely original late-war belt and buckle combination rarely encountered in this condition.
