German WWI Hesse Regiment 118 Marked Display Piece

A well-preserved K98 display piece, manufactured by Richard Herder of Solingen. It bears the Imperial acceptance stamp to the flat back, along with regimental markings ‘118.R.5.K.2’. The piece shows only very slight sharpening marks and retains its undamaged wood grips. The upper pommel has a faint acceptance stamp, and the rifle retaining button functions correctly.

Fitted into its original scabbard, which has a minor indentation to the lower section, this is a complete and historically interesting example.
