GERMAN WWI HESSE NCOS ALL LEATHER PICKLEHAUBE

A very good condition all-leather Pickelhaube of Hesse Regiment 115. All other metal fittings in white. The leather skull is generally good, with minor loss of the skin above the national cockade, minor creasing on the rear of the skull, and both front and rear peaks securely attached to the main body of the helmet. The helmet is with its correct fluted Hesse spike, the large Hesse front plate with the 1621 scroll, both the national and the Hessian cockades, and complete with its white metal set of flat tin scales. The interior mid tan leather officers' quality liner is all complete with evidence of wear and use; the inner silk to the liner is also complete. One of the 1621 scroll fixing pins is missing from the interior. An original owner’s name paper label fitted to the upper part of the skull with a similar name hand applied to the rear interior peak.
